Norway, which has a population of around 5.2 million, is located in Scandinavia and is known for being a safe and civilized country to visit. Some misconceptions about Norway are debunked, such as the belief that polar bears walk the streets - the archipelago of Svalbard is the only place in Norway where polar bears roam. It is also important to note that Norway uses the Norwegian Krone as its currency, but cash is becoming less commonly used. 

 

The majority of Norwegians speak English, making it easy to communicate while visiting. There are four seasons in Norway, and some attractions are only open during specific seasons. Wild camping is allowed throughout Norway, and national parks and outdoor locations are free to use. Lastly, Norway is known for having the best salmon, but eating out can be expensive.
