Departing from Cape Town, you will travel in comfort to the valley and enjoy a Hop-On Hop-Off Franschhoek Wine tram experience. With several routes to choose from, each tram stop offers a chance to explore a different wine estate, enjoy tastings, and learn about the area's 300-year-old wine heritage. From scenic views of vineyards to world-class wines and cuisine, this tour is a true highlight for wine lovers and culture enthusiasts alike.

Start your adventure from Cape Town in a luxury air-conditioned coach that takes you straight to the stunning Franschhoek Valley. Here, you will step onto the famous Franschhoek Wine Tram, a unique hop-on hop-off experience that lets you explore the valley’s top wine estates. The tram offers two routes—clockwise and anti-clockwise—making stops at various estates. You can hop off to enjoy wine tastings, cellar tours, a delicious meal, or simply a peaceful walk through the vineyards. With trams and tram-buses running every hour, it is easy to move between stops at your own pace.

The Franschhoek Wine Tram is not just about wine—it is also a window into the valley’s history. As you ride the vintage-style tram or open-air tram-bus, you will hear stories of the French Huguenots who arrived over 300 years ago. They brought with them expert winemaking knowledge and transformed the valley into the breathtaking landscape it is today. The tram’s narration highlights this proud heritage while offering panoramic views of the vineyards and surrounding mountains.

Franschhoek is renowned for its wide variety of wines and world-class cuisine. You will find everything from boutique wineries with unique selections to larger estates offering guided tours and tastings. The wines include bold reds, crisp whites, and sparkling varieties. The region is also known as South Africa’s Wine & Gourmet Capital, where award-winning chefs craft exceptional meals that pair perfectly with the wines. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or just looking for a memorable dining experience, Franschhoek has something for everyone.

This tour is designed for convenience and enjoyment. If you buy wine at any estate, the tram staff will safely store your purchases, ensuring you receive them before boarding the coach back to Cape Town. Tickets are valid only for the day of booking, so be sure to reserve in advance. With its stunning scenery, warm hospitality, and rich winemaking tradition, the Franschhoek Wine Tram offers an unforgettable journey through one of South Africa’s most beautiful regions.
