The experience begins at Çerçiz Topulli Square, the lively heart of the city, where you are introduced to the history and character of this UNESCO-listed destination. From here, the journey continues through the atmospheric streets toward the historic Old Bazaar of Gjirokastër. Along the way, you pause at the famous Neck of the Bazaar, learning about the distinctive stone architecture while observing local artisans who still practice traditional crafts. Handmade goods crafted from wool, stone, and wood fill the small shops, offering a glimpse into the town’s long-standing artisanal traditions.

The tour then leads up to the impressive Gjirokastër Castle, a vast fortress that dominates the skyline and holds centuries of history, legends, and dramatic events within its walls.
