This 6th-century pagoda is the oldest in Hanoi and offers stunning views and serene surroundings. The Tran Quoc Pagoda is Hanoi’s oldest temple. It sits on the tiny Golden Fish Island on West Lake (Ho Tay), joined to the lake banks by a causeway. It is a picturesque spot, but the temple was not always here. Originally, in the 6th century, the pagoda was built on the banks of the Red River.

Visit the Ho Chi Minh complex. Stroll through the gardens and see the houses where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex is an important place of pilgrimage for many Vietnamese. A traffic-free area of botanical gardens, monuments, memorials, and pagodas, it is usually crowded with Vietnamese who come from far and wide to pay their respects to 'Uncle Ho.' Then, visit the unique One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy. Famously known as 'the most unique pagoda in Asia', one pillar has a unique architectural structure. The pagoda looks like a lotus flower which also happens to be the national flower of Vietnam. The pagoda is in the lake with a square structure on a stone pillar.
