Starting from the clock tower, you will explore the historic Elevator, Kemeralti, Ancient Smyrna, Agora, and more. You will also have time to eat lunch, with suggestions provided by your guide. The Izmir City Tour begins at the famous Clock Tower in the historic city of Izmir, where you will meet your friendly tour guide. Get ready to explore the city’s rich history and culture as you step into the heart of ancient times. First, hop on the tram with your guide and head to the Historical Elevator, also known as Asansor. This old elevator takes you up to a high point where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the entire city. It’s the perfect place to take amazing photos. Your guide will take care of the public transport tickets, so you can relax and enjoy the ride. Next, you’ll explore the lively streets of Kemeralti, the ancient bazaar district. This area is full of local shops, inns, and old taverns. You’ll also see the historic Hisar Mosque and Kızlarağası Inn. It’s a wonderful place to experience local life and maybe shop for some unique souvenirs.

Then comes lunchtime. While lunch is not included in the tour, your guide will suggest some tasty local places to eat. You’ll have some free time to enjoy your meal and rest before continuing the tour. The lunch break may change depending on how big the group is. After lunch, you’ll visit the Ancient Smyrna, also known as Izmir Agora. This old Greek market was built in the 4th century. Later, the Ottomans used it as a graveyard and a place for open-air prayers. Your guide will share interesting stories and show you the hidden corners of this historic site. The tour ends after your visit to the Agora. If you need help getting back to your hotel, your guide will provide you with all the information you need. You’ll leave with great memories and a deeper understanding of Izmir’s amazing past.
