Overview

Embark on a journey to Kakheti, one of the most stunning regions in Georgia, known for its rich winemaking heritage. This tour perfectly blends history, culture, and culinary delights. You will explore ancient monasteries, taste some of the country's best wines, and even learn how to cook traditional Georgian dishes. Experience the warmth of Georgian hospitality in a region where wine has been crafted for thousands of years.

Itinerary

Kakheti is the most important wine region in Georgia wine country, a land whose breathtaking landscape will leave you as tipsy as its wine. This journey will take you back to introduce you to the most ancient winemaking techniques and let you taste unique wine.

You will start your journey by visiting the Monastery of St. Nino in Bodbe, a significant pilgrimage site in Georgia. Originally built in the 9th century, the monastery is home to the tomb of St. Nino, the Cappadocian maiden who converted the Georgian people to Christianity. The site offers breathtaking views of the Alazani Valley and the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains, making it a truly spiritual experience.

Next, arrive in Sighnaghi, often called the "City of Love." This charming town, developed in the 18th century by King Erekle II, is surrounded by defensive walls and 28 towers, originally built to protect against invasions. Stroll through its narrow, cobbled streets and take in the stunning views over the Alazani Valley. Sighnaghi's romantic atmosphere and picturesque scenery make it a must-visit destination in Kakheti. After the walk, we will have a traditional dinner with a workshop, where you will learn how to cook traditional meals. You can also taste traditional candies like grape juice – Churchkhela and Pelamushi.

Later, visit a traditional Georgian wine cellar on the way to Sighnaghi, the "City of Love." Here, you will meet a friendly local host who will introduce you to the world of Georgian wine and chacha (a traditional Georgian spirit). Enjoy a complimentary wine-tasting session to sample the unique flavors of homemade wines crafted with ancient techniques. Also, take part in a fun and interactive bread-baking masterclass. Learn how to prepare traditional Georgian bread, a staple in every household. Under the guidance of skilled bakers, you will get hands-on experience in kneading and baking, followed by the chance to taste your own freshly made bread. This masterclass is included at no extra cost for our guests.
