Itinerary

In Georgia, every season has its own uniqueness. Georgian fall reminds us of the warmness of the summer and introduces the coolness of the upcoming winter. This scene creates the warmest atmosphere your soul will ever experience. Not only can it be felt during your casual Tbilisi Tour street walk but even more by going to places like Ananuri, Gudauri, and the most famous of them all - Kazbegi. That is exactly what this magnificent tour will bring to you, along with all the unforgettable positive lifetime memories that will stay with you forever.

During our tour to the Ananuri-Kazbegi mountains, you can look forward to an exhilarating drive as we head north along the Georgian Military Highway into the high Caucasus Mountains. This highway spans 220 km from Tbilisi to Vladikavkaz in Russia and offers a spectacular journey through the steep mountains. The route has been in use since the 1st century BC, and it remains crucial as the only road linking Georgia to Russia through the Caucasus Mountains.

With this tour, you will visit the Zhinvali reservoir, a breathtaking man-made lake surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains. The turquoise waters of the reservoir create a stunning contrast against the rugged landscape, offering perfect photo opportunities and a serene atmosphere.

Explore the historic Ananuri fortress, located on the banks of the Aragvi River. This ancient fortress, dating back to the 13th century, was once home to the Dukes of Aragvi. Wander through the well-preserved structures and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains and the nearby Zhinvali reservoir. Visit Gudauri, a popular winter resort on a sun-soaked plateau in the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range. Even outside the ski season, Gudauri offers stunning panoramic views and a refreshing mountain breeze. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this high-altitude retreat.

On your way to Kazbegi, stop at the Monument of the Treaty of Georgievsk or Monument of Arch of Friendship, built in 1983 to celebrate the longstanding friendship between Georgia and Soviet Russia. This impressive circular structure, adorned with a vibrant tile mural, overlooks the Devil's Valley and provides a glimpse into Georgia's rich history.

You will also visit the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched high above the village of Stepantsminda. This 14th-century church is one of Georgia's most iconic landmarks, offering breathtaking views of Mount Kazbek. In the 18th century, the church was turned into storage for main Georgian relics that were transported here during the Persian invasion to Tbilisi. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Soviet government closed the church, and it was returned to the Georgian Orthodox Church only in the 1990s.
