Come see the special production of "The Revolt of the Coffee Pickers" in just March and April! What's going on in the Speicherstadt when angry women are yelling, crowds of people are obstructing factory gates, and smoke is rising in a dangerous manner? The harsh labor, unjust punishments, and unsatisfactory working conditions are driving out female coffee pickers! Hamburg, known as the "black gold" of coffee, was and continues to be a major hub for coffee trade. It's not everything that glitters, though. The extra show "The Revolt of the Coffee Pickers" in the Hamburg Dungeon depicts the darker side of coffee processing in the Hanseatic city, when hundreds of women protested in April 1896! The protest draws in visitors, but as things get out of control, the strike strategy devolves into an explosive and violent confrontation.
The Hamburg Dungeon entertainingly recreates the worst eras of the city's past. Modern special effects combined with skilled performers create a unique form of live entertainment. In immersive shows, the live performers play historical roles and transport you through 600 years of Hamburg's shadowy history. This exciting live-action attraction in the historic Speicherstadt district features two exciting rides with lots of action.
The "Elevator of Doom" offers visitors a unique experience. You can even attempt to avert the execution of the pirate Klaus Störtebecker or learn about the dreadful years of the Plague. The torturer welcomes suspicious locals into his Chamber of Torment, along with other hostile guests.
With the inquisitor's eyes brightening and lots of fun ahead, stand up for yourself against the wrath of a restless spirit and defend yourself from its merciless grasp. At last, the fortunate ones who made it out will sit in Hamburg's distinctive freefall tower and climb out of the dungeon – good luck!
