More About Belfast

Belfast is the ancient city in the islands of Ireland and the capital of Northern Ireland. This historic capital is the largest city in the country and the second largest in the Islands.

Belfast has always been an important port and also played a key role in the Industrial Revolution. During the revolution, the city became the largest linen producer globally and was nicknamed as Lineopolis. Shipbuilding was another important industry in Belfast. The Harland and Wolff Shipyard was the world's biggest. RMS Titanic is one of the famous creations of the yard. The status of Belfast as an Industrial player ended a few decades after the Second World War. Belfast suffered a lot in this and became one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Still all these years the city has transformed itself to be one of the safest in the whole United Kingdom.

The entire city displays the Victorian architecture with the beautiful waterfront. The old shipyards and Titanic Belfast centers are major tourist attractions. Belfast Castle is a hilltop view one must not miss. Enjoy the flowers and lush green at the Botanical Gardens. The city offers great food and drinking culture all around with ample options of great restaurants and pubs.
