More About Derry-Londonderry

Derry-Londonderry is the only remaining and the finest examples of the completely intact walled city in Ireland. It is present on the west bank of River Foyle. The river makes the deep valley as it flows through the city giving the very steep streets.

Now, the modern Derry extends on the east of the river and west and north of city walls. The west of the River Foyle is Cityside, and the east is Waterside. There is a Craigavon bridge connecting both the areas. The city has an oceanic climate with moderate temperature. Feel the history of Derry with Derry’s City Walls, the 1.5km circumference of walls are the only city walls in Ireland that survive the most.

Museum of Free Derry has interactive displays that show the history of Bogside and the events of Bloody Sunday. Historical Siege Museum, Tower Museum is also worth to visit. The nightlife of the city is exciting mainly on weekends with several clubs and bars. The Strand Road and Waterloo Street have modern and Irish traditional pubs.
