Royal Exhibition Building was commissioned for the 1891 World’s Fair, and it is one of Australia’s most iconic buildings. The building was designed by John Harry Grainger, who also designed Melbourne Town Hall which still stands today. The building is one of the few remaining in the world that has a complete collection of Victorian grandeur from its original furnishings to its rooms and design. It has been designated as a National Heritage Place since 1997.
The Swan Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Western Australia. It is a wine region and contains many wineries. There are plenty of wineries to visit, including some well-known ones such as Hattingley Valley, Mount Horrocks, Roaring 40s and many others. It has a long history and was originally established by Sir John Forrest in 1887. The Swan Valley also contains a number of historic landmarks, such as the Prentice Women’s Hospital and the Perth Zoo.
Built in the 1850s, this prison is Australia's only remaining convict built jail. It is named after Captain Charles Fremantle who established a camp here in 1827. The prison was built to accommodate convicts who were picked up as they attempted to escape from the penal settlement at Port Arthur. Fremantle Prison is listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and recognized as one of Australia's National Treasures.
Kings Park Perth is one of the largest parks in the city. It is home to many different types of wildlife, such as seals, kangaroos and blue-tongued lizards. It has a number of walking tracks that you can take including the Coastal Walkway and Retreat Track. The park offers a range of facilities for visitors, including picnic areas, shelters, a playground and public toilets. It is open from 6am on weekdays, 8am on Saturdays and 8:30am on Sundays.
The Burswood Entertainment Complex is a casino and entertainment complex in Perth, Western Australia. The complex includes a casino, 4 hotels, convention and exhibition space, an entertainment centre, restaurants and bars. The Complex is not only the largest entertainment venue in the region but also one of the two casinos that are situated within the state of Western Australia. It is also one of four hotel properties that are owned by The Star Entertainment Group in Perth.
Western Australia Museum is the first state museum in Western Australia. It has a lot of cultural exhibitions, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art exhibitions, Asian galleries, Japanese galleries and Australian Galleries. It also has the only complete skeleton of a pygmy right whale on display in the world. The museum also has an outreach program called Discovery Tours so that they can go to schools around Western Australia and teach kids about science with interactive experiments.
It falls under the conservation section of Perth Zoo and Wildlife Conversation Society. The zoo is located in South Perth, Western Australia and has been open since 1898. It covers 26 hectares, making it one of the largest zoos in Australia. The zoo houses around 550 animals which come from 150 different species with some animals on loan from other zoos.
