Overview

Populated for nearly 5 centuries, St. Augustine has attained a unique historical heritage and character pockmarked with ghoulish events and spooky happenings. Start for the Ghosts & Gravestones Tour of St. Augustine by hopping expectantly onboard ‘The Trolley of the Doomed’. As the trolley bus departs from the Old Town Trolley Welcome Center at 27 San Marco Avenue, the vehicle first arrives at Cromwell’s Parlor of Paranormal Activities. Thereafter the trolley bus takes you to Tolomato and Huguenot cemeteries and Old Jail-the most haunted site in St. Augustine. The last stop of the tour which is also the highlight of the trip is the Chamber of Horrors in Potter Wax’s Museum.

Itinerary

The best way to experience and feel the spookiness and the paranormal aura in St. Augustine is by booking a Ghosts & Gravestones Tour. Opting for this nocturnal trip enables you to get up close and personal with the murkier side of St. Augustine. Ensure that you reach the main departure point at the Old Town Trolley Welcome Center at least 20 minutes beforehand.

You’ll be able to check out Cromwell’s Parlor of Paranormal Activities situated inside the Old Town Trolley Welcome Center if you arrive in time. Cromwell Parlor archives relics and artifacts that symbolize the supernatural and paranormal past of St. Augustine. Your gravedigger guide will share true spine-tingling stories of the turbulent history of the city as you saunter through the Huguenot and Tolomato graveyards.

If you have an intrinsic predilection for clairvoyance, you might be able to sense the apparition of the Ghost Bride or James, a five-year-old inside the Tolomato cemetery. Keep your eyes and ears open for glimpsing Elizabeth, a kid who succumbed to yellow fever, while you go past the Old Town Gates. Your next stop is at the Old Jail building which is considered to be the spookiest site in St. Augustine.

The Old Jail has been long associated with numerous paranormal sightings and visitations that have been meticulously documented. Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) recorded during an actual investigation relate to the infamous executions conducted in the jail. Your sinister journey of discovery will come to a close when you get to the Potter’s Wax Museum.

You’ll have goosebumps on your skin when you take a walk around the Chamber of Horrors inside the wax museum. When your phantom guide restates the macabre hanging of the notorious pirate Andrew Ranson, a cold shiver will run down your spine. Don’t wait or spend time waiting in the queue to get your tickets.
