Itinerary

"Line A" of City Sightseeing Messina Hop On Hop Off Bus includes various important landmarks. Piazza Duomo is the most fascinating and main square in Messina. You can visit Fountain of Orion which was created by a disciple of Michelangelo Buonarroti and represent the rivers Tiber, Nilo, and Camaro. It was craved to acknowledge the first water channel of the city. The Madonna Immacolata monument and Duomo that is present on the right of the square are admirable. Due to the disaster of the 1908 earthquake Duomo was renovated with Renaissance style. The images of Baroque and various statues as well as marbles and mosaics are a replica of originals. The animated clock of the Bell Tower is the largest astronomical clock across the world. The next destination will be via Garibaldi and then getting to the Strait seafront and then visiting the famous Promenade. The bus will follow the coast road and again reach the city.
You can explore various places on the way such as Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, The fabulous Villa Mazzini, the Municipal Aquarium and the Regional Museum. This museum consists of three sections: sculpture collection, art gallery, and the archeological part. Fountain of Neptune, St. Antonius, Francesco Laurana's Madonna with Child, and Goro di Gregorio's Madonna of the Cripples are present in sculpture section.
"Line B" will take you to lovely Sacrario di Cristo Re that is present on a small hill overlooking the town. This is a burial site for all the Italians that were killed during the First World War. The structure is on the ruins of the castle Matagrifone. On Sunset large bells ring in memory of great soldiers. You can enjoy the awe-inspiring view of the Strait. The place has various endemic species, and you can admire rare species of fishes on the shore during sunrise.
