Overview

The hop-on hop-off open-top bus will take you on a memorable tour of the city thriving on either side of the Daugava River. With 1 or 2-Days passes, you’ll have the leeway of jumping on and/or hopping off the bus at will. You can put on headphones (available complementarily with every booking) to listen to the prerecorded audio commentary in 10 different languages. Riga is the largest city in Latvia and also the nation’s cultural hub, having been voted the ‘European Capital of Culture in 2014.
 
Many of the city’s buildings and structures constructed in Baroque and Gothic styles remind you of a medieval European town. Riga as a city was founded more than 800 years ago and the city’s historical center, especially the Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also famous throughout the world for its eclectic cuisine and a vibrant nightlife that you must experience.

Itinerary

Once you book your hop-on hop-off city sightseeing ticket online, you become eligible to crisscross through Riga to your heart’s content.
 
The Grand Tour:
The 800-year-old city's streets are traversed by the Grand Tour, which passes through each of the three districts. We first travel to Pardaugava, which is the left bank of the Daugava River, where we can see the historic churches of a medieval city that formerly had golden cocks.
 
We then proceed to the Center. The majority of the city's attractions are situated here. You will witness the well-known Freedom Monument, the Opera House, the Powder Tower, the Cathedral, and much more as you go around the Boulevard Ring.
 
Next, the trip visits Riga's architectural district, which includes the area housing foreign embassies and the contemporary architecture district with its ornate Art Nouveau and National Romanticism buildings. This tour will let you see the following attractions:-

Thereafter you hop back on the bus to explore the Freedom Movement and pay homage to soldiers martyred during the Latvian War. Situated close to the freedom movement is St. Peter’s Church, a Lutheran Church that is a perfect instance of Baroque and Romanesque architectural styles. Climb to the top of the church and enjoy a bird’s eye view of Riga from the cathedral’s steeple.
 
Your next stop should be the Old Town where you’ll walk on cobblestone streets, and get transported to Riga of medieval times. After you’re through with touring the Old Town, you can take a break in Riga’s oldest public park-the Vermane Garden. You can unwind in the garden until you feel reenergized enough to continue with your hop-on hop-off tour.
 
Taste The Local Cuisine:
After having a refreshing lunch of local cuisine comprising grey peas, sorrel soup, and rye bread, you can visit a few museums. In the evening you can catch an opera show at the Latvian National Opera or admire a play at the Latvian National Theater. Round up your hop-on hop-off tour by indulging in a shopping spree at the Central Market, and dance the night away by immersing yourself in the vibrant nightlife.

Redemption Info

Departure Point: Town Hall Square of the Old Town. However, you can board the bus at any stop and voucher can be exchanged directly with the driver.
Mobile and paper vouchers are both accepted at all stops.
You will receive a ticket in exchange for your voucher, which you must keep until the expiry date/ tour.
Please check your ticket to know when it expires.
After exchanging your voucher for a ticket, your voucher will no longer be valid.
In loss of voucher/ticket, company is not liable for any refund.
Operational Update: Due to construction work in the city, at the moment our two routes (red and blue) are combined in one route and it takes 60-70 min.
Flexi Ticket: You can enjoy the tour in a different date than the reserved one if you missed your tour date. You must inform us in 48Hrs advance via email at support@sightseeingo.com
IMPORTANT REQUEST: If you are coming by cruise ship/ ferries, it is important to advise cruise ship name and disembarkation/ docking time after your booking with replying on same email. 
Cruise Passengers: We have a stop 200m from cruise port and the bus is clearly visible from the ship (in days when cruise ships are arriving, we start our tour from the port, and we are also bringing guests back to the ship).

Wheelchair Accessible: At the moment we can take on board ordinary wheelchair with a help of bus driver or accompanying person. There is no posdibility to get on board on electrical wheelchair.
Dogs or Pets Allowed: Small and Well-behaved pets are allowed on board
Tours operate in all weather, rain or shine. Refunds due to weather will not be granted unless the service is suspended as a result of weather.
Disclaimer: Due to traffic issues, public holidays, weather conditions, cruise ship arrivals and unforeseen circumstances, there might be sudden changes in the route or on the schedule. In "normal times" Riga is a busy city, especially during special events, summer holidays and at weekends. Traffic congestion and road closures - may cause delays, reduced frequency and changes to the route. We’ll do all we can to provide a smooth and frequent service! No refund possible in such conditions.
