Tallinn being the largest and most developed city is the capital of Estonia. Enjoy this ancient city dating back to 5000 years in the Hop On Hop Off bus tour.

Start exploring Tallinn with Viru Square, which has always been one of the main squares of the city for ages. Earlier it was called the Russian Market, Stalin square, Centre Square and finally getting the name Viru Square in 1970. The buzzing square holds few important landmarks like the Viru Hotel, Viru center bus terminal, Viru Street and the Tammsaare Park. The next destination can be the Kadriorg Art Museum or the Kadriorg Palace. A Petrine Baroque palace, Peter the Great built it for Catherine I of Russia.

Experience the medieval and ancient culture of Northern Europe in the Old town of Tallinn also called Vanalinn. It is a subdistrict of Keshklinn district of Tallinn. Gothic buildings, twisted cobblestone alleys, ancient spires, old school Iron street lamps and the popular medieval markets. Explore the UNESCO protected site with your own pace and time. Don’t get confused with looks of the area as the old town has some of the best cafes and wifi facilities all over the area.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral will be the ideal location for the next visit. It is present in the Tallinn old town and designed by Mikhail Preobrazhensky in the conventional Russian Revival style. During the construction, Estonia was an important part of the entire Russian Empire. Another church on the trail representing the Gothic architecture is the St. Olaf’s Church. This church is ancient and dates back to the 12th century. It served as the center for the old Scandinavian community of Tallinn until Denmark conquered Estonia.

For making the tour a little more adventurous, climb the Tallinn TV Tower which is 314 m high and has a glass floor viewing platform on the 21st floor. Finally, visit the Estonian Maritime Museum and the Baltic Sea beach. For the Maritime Museum, you need to get back to the Old Town and view the collection of historical artifacts of ships and maritime, related to Estonia. Tallinn is present in the Gulf of Finland and also borders the Baltic sea with more than 1500 islands present in the region. Therefore the Estonian beach is undoubtedly going to give you the chills!
