Overview

If you’re like most travelers, you consider San Diego to be a popular tourist destination because of its pleasant climate, numerous sun-kissed beaches, and beautiful landmarks. However, your perception of this West Coast city is surely going to change when you take a ride on The Trolley of the Doomed. The Trolley of the Doomed will drive you through the spookiest area in San Diego Old Town. You’ll first visit the neighborhood of Mission Hills where Pioneer Park is located which in turn juxtaposes the Grant Elementary School. Thereafter you’ll amble through El Campo Santo Cemetery which still houses 477 original graves, and finally to Whaley House-the most haunted abode in the US.

Itinerary

The Ghosts & Gravestones Tour takes you on a lively and compelling trip revolving around myths, mysteries, and fabulous tales of San Diego’s murkier past. This tour lets you delve deep into the clandestine history of San Diego, updating you with infamous personalities like Gunslingers and Outlaws. During the spooky expedition, you come to know about the catastrophic and heartrending demises of well-known kin that had originally settled in San Diego.

Your next stop will be at one of the most haunted schools in California and the US-the Grant Elementary School. Feel your heart miss a beat as you listen to eerie accounts of poltergeists and spectres of yore that continue to trouble the neighborhoods. Pioneer Park situated just beside Grant Elementary School serves as an ideal picnicking spot and children’s playground throughout the day.

If you have the nerve to spend even half an hour in Pioneer Park after sunset, you’ll discover why the square remains desolate at night. The sinister expedition next drives you via the Old Town where the highlight will be a heart-stopping stroll in the El Campo Santo Cemetery.

The El Campo Santo Cemetery situated in the San Diego Old Town’s Historic Park was constructed more than 170 years ago. Residents living in the vicinity of this Catholic Cemetery have narrated spine-chilling tales about troubled spirits tormenting them in various ways.

After you’re through with travelling in and around the El Campo Santo Cemetery, you move on to Whaley House-the final stop of this paranormal tour. As per the Travel Channel’s “America’s Most Haunted”, the Whaley House continues to occupy the top rank amongst all haunted houses in the US. However, it cannot be asserted with certainty that the Whaley House is the haunt of distressed souls, the records of paranormal events notwithstanding.

Nevertheless, there’s not an iota of doubt that the Whaley House is the favorite haunt of tourists with a penchant for the paranormal. The Whaley House continues to be in the limelight, attracting adventurous travelers from far and near, because Jim Robinson was executed inside its premises.
